Class News: Lisa Fagan WaltsOur website builder, Lisa Fagan Walts sends news of an adventurous nine months for her and her husband, Alan. The excitement began last October 2005, when Lisa and Alan became members of the Tailhook Society. "One of our best friends is the Commanding Officer of the Navy Aircraft Carrier, the USS Enterprise, and he invited us to fly out for a 24 hour stay on the ship while they were out doing training maneuvers. We made an official carrier landing, getting caught by the hook, decelerating from 110 mph to 0 in about 2 seconds. Quite a ride. We had a full tour of the ship and were on deck during fighter jet takeoffs and landings. It was all very exciting and patriotic!" "From there we headed on to our real adventure. We took our 40 foot sailboat to the Caribbean in December and spent 5 months cruising the Caribbean islands." They sailed for a month in the US Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands, "then headed on to St. Martin/St Maarten for five weeks of living the island life! From there we headed south for 76 straight hours of sailing to Grenada." There they cruised the surrounding islands, and finally headed to Trinidad, where they have stored their boat for the summer months. "We will be back to more cruising in January." "We spent the summer at our house in NH on Lake Winnipesauke where we enjoy being on the lake and doing lots of water skiing. Lisa Hawley Hiley and her husband Ray just left after their annual summer visit with their children Alexa (16) and Megan (14). It is amazing that Lisa and I were freshman roommates, and here we still are best friends. Something I always thank MHC for!" |
